From Maundy Thurday through Holy Saturday, the Studium offers an intensive experience of the Holy Triduum leading up to the joy of the celebration of the Resurrection at Easter through a combination of lectures and liturgy. The lectures are in English while the liturgies are in Finnish.
The Welcoming Team welcomes new members to the Catholic Diocese of Helsinki. Now the Welcoming Team's spring programme has been released.

This year Ash Wednesday falls on February 26th. At the Studium Catholicum we mark the beginning of Lent with a Mass in English and imposition of ashes at noon. Welcome!

At the Studium you will learn more about Jeanne d'Arc from Brother Marie-Augustin Laurent OP, essayist Antti Nylén, Naster of Laws Matti Norri and docent Osmo Pekonen, who will look at Jeanne d’Arc from different perspectives. Always controversial, Jeanne d'Arc was executed and then declared a saint.
Three of the presentations are in Finnish and one in English.

On November 19th, 2019, a seminar on how to solve the environmental crisis was held at the Studium Catholicum's Angelicum Hall. For those who missed the seminar, we are happy to share the lecture given by Nigel Haigh, honorary fellow of the Institute for European Environmental Policy.
This year the Studium's traditional 3-day Advent Retreat will be lead Father Haavar Simon Nielsen OP from Norway. The Retreat begins at 6.00 p.m. on Friday, December 5th, Finland's Independence Day, and ends at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 8th. The language of the Retreat is English.

The Studium Catholicum's Culture Night series continues on November 29th on the theme of vocations. The guest for the evening is actress Terhi Suorlahti-Gerardin, who has acted in a number of Finnish films and television series in addition to working at many of Finland's finest theatres. She will give a talk on having acting as your vocation.

On Tuesday, November 19th, 2019, the Studium Catholicum hosts a seminar on Solving the Environmental Crisis. Welcome to the Studium's Angelicum Hall at 6.30 p.m.
On October 13th, John Henry Cardinal Newman will be canonised in Rome. Come join us in celebrating the joyous event: Watch the Canonisation Mass on a big screen at the Studium Catholicum's Angelicum Hall, the doors are open from 10 am through 2 .30 p.m.
To further celebrate the canonisation a lecture on Newman will be held at the Studium Catholicum on Friday, October 25th. The French Newman expert Father Jean Rencki will give a talk on Newman as the Prophet of Vatican II at the Studium's Angelicum Hall from 7 p.m. Welcome!
