The Ignatian Way - A Seminar on Spiritual Direction will be given by Father Charles Pottie-Pâté SJ at the Studium Catholicum in Helsinki on Thursday, June 20th, 2019 at 9.30-12.30. At 8.30 a.m., an hour before the seminar starts, the Studium hosts an Ecumenical Morning Prayer, which participants of the seminar are also welcome to join. The prayer concludes with coffee & tea. The Ignatian Way seminar is organised by the Helsinki Parishes of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and the Studium Catholicum. Father Charles Pottie-Pâté is originally from Nova Scotia with Acadian roots. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1959 and has completed 60 years as a Jesuit. He taught liturgy and sacramental theology from 1980 to 2006 in the universities of Toronto, Ottawa, Rome, and Halifax. He has been giving the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola since 1970 in one form or another, accompanying people in their journey of faith. He has been in the Calgary Diocese since September of 2011 and his ministry involves the continuation of his work with Ignatian Spirituality, including spiritual exercises, retreats, spiritual direction, and as Jesuit liaison with Christian Life Community – a lay association rooted in Ignatian vision. |
