Talk on Family Prayer on Sept. 7

On Friday, September 7th, Father Jose Kulathoor will give a talk at the Studium Catholicum on the sucject of Family Prayer. Father Jose is part of the Apostolic Visitation for the Syro-Malabar faithful in Europe.

Fr Jose is from Kerala in India and was ordained 29.12.2012. He served as a priest in his home diocese in Kerala for 2 ½ years and is now stationed in Rome, where he is working on his doctorate in dogmatic theology at the  Pontifical Gregorian University.

During the time of studies in Rome, he is also helping the Apostolic Visitation for the European Syro-Malabar community, a new arrangement made by the Holy Father for the pastoral service of the Syro-Malabar faithful in Europe, including celebrating Holy Mass for the Syro Malabar Faithful in Italy, Norway, Sweden and Finland. He first celebrated Mass according to the Syro-Malabar rite in Finland in December 2017. On this trip he will be celebrating Holy Mass in Malayalam at St Mary's Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 8th.

Bishop Stephen Chirappanath, Apostolic Visitator for the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Europe, visited Finland in June.

The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, the second-largest Eastern Catholic Church in the world with over 4.6 million members worldwide, is based in Kerala and traces its origins to the evangelistic activity of Thomas the Apostle in the 1st century.
