On Thursday, March 12th, Medievalist Markus Hiekkanen gives a talk on the early Dominicans in Finland. The lecture is in Finnish and begins at 7 p.m. at the Studium Catholicum's Angelicum Hall.

Translation of the Relics of Aquinas marked Jan. 28

The Order of Preachers and the Studium Catholicum celebrate the memorial of the Translation of the Relics of St Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, January 28. This year the day is marked with a lecture in Finnish at the Studium's Angelicum Hall from 6.30 p.m. and sung vespers at 8 p.m.

You can join a song rehearsal for the vespers with brother Marie-Augustin OP at the Studium on Monday, January 27th between 6 and 7 p.m.

November's Culture Night with Terhi Suorlahti

The Studium Catholicum's Culture Night series continues on November 29th on the theme of vocations. The guest for the evening is actress Terhi Suorlahti-Gerardin, who has acted in a number of Finnish films and television series in addition to working at many of Finland's finest theatres. She will give a talk on having acting as your vocation.

Open House on New Studium Floor on March 31st

The Studium is growing! Blessedly, we are not moving, but growing onto another floor of the building we're already in. On the floor below our library we are opening a new lecture hall, the Angelicum Hall.

You are warmly welcome to visit the new floor on Sunday March 31st as we celebrate our new premises with an open house from 11.30 to 16.00. During the last few months these premises on the floor below have been carefully restored to the original Neo-Renaissance style of our building, which dates from 1886.

Refreshments will be served.
