Culture Night on November 2: Candle Workshop

​Welcome to the Culture Night Candle Workshop and Talk about candles on Friday, November 2nd!

Participants  at the workshop, which runs from 5 p.m. until 9.30 p.m., will hear about the meaning and use of candles in liturgy, from ancient times to our days, as well as how to make new candles from what is left of old candles.

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux in Finland

The Saints of Lisieux are making a Nordic Visit: the relics of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux and her parents will arrive in Finland at the end of October. The Studium Catholicum prepares for this event by offering a series of lectures connected to the Saints of Lisieux.

Culture Night on October 12: Art in Christian Life

The Studium Catholicum welcomes Fr Alain Arnould OP as the guest of honour of this autumn's first Culture Night. Join him for a talk on the Place of Art in Christian Life at 19.00 -21.00 on Friday, October 12th, at the Studium.

Fr Alain has been appointed as the Socius of the Master of the Order, fr Bruno Cadoré, for Northwestern Europe and Canada. He has studied Marketing and History of Art at Ghent, London and Cambridge Universities.  Read more in pdf format here.

Ten Years of Ecumenical Morning Prayers

The first Ecumenical Morning Prayer was held on October 2, 2008. Welcome to celebrate the 10-year Anniversary of Ecumenical Morning Prayers at the Studium Catholicum on Thursday, October 4 at 8:30 a.m. Bishop Teemu Sippo SCJ, among others, will participate in the anniversary prayer. As usual, there is coffee after the prayers.
